Project for Sexually Exploited Girls and Women

Since the foundation of the Oblate Sisters of the Most Holy Redeemer in June 1, 1864 up to now, we continue to work with the sexually exploited/prostituted women working in the streets, City Health Clinics and in the bars.

At the moment, we are accompanying women victims of sexual exploitation in the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, Pasay and Cavite. Girls/ women are identified and contacted in their prostitution zones. They are later befriended and invited to the center for the various therapeutic interventions that they are interested to avail. Those women who have children are also invited to become part of the Mother and Babies Program. The beneficiaries for the Project for the Sexually Exploited Women receive the following services: individual and group counseling, values formation, spiritual enrichment, reproductive health sessions, home visitations, family reunification, referral, medical/dental services, psychosocial services, educational trip, recreation and Parents Effectiveness Seminars for the mothers . They are also facilitated to become members of the Social Security System and PhilHealth Insurance and Multipurpose Cooperatives. Skills Trainings are also conducted in the Centers such as Computer Training, Culinary Arts and Cosmetology to augment their sources of living in the event that they leave their work.
